What is The Update Pass?
The Update Pass is an optional add-on that enables the use of the latest software version of Clip Studio Paint for users who already have a perpetual license (Windows/macOS).
Upon purchasing the pass, your perpetual license for either PRO or EX will be updated to the latest version, no matter which version you initially bought.
Unlike the monthly subscription plan, the perpetual license is a one-time purchase that you may use for as long as you like, within the version you downloaded. If you want the latest version however, a separate annual add-on is needed, i.e., the Update Pass.
The price for the Update Pass will depend on which license, PRO or EX, you have purchased.

Purchasing the Perpetual License and the Update Pass
The price for the PRO License is US$58.50, and the EX is US$258.00.
If you buy the License and the Update Pass at the same time, the PRO would be $58.50+$10.99=$69.99, and only an annual fee of $10.99 in the following years.
Same for the EX, $258+$31.99=$289.99, and only an annual fee of $31.99 in the following years.

You can buy the Update Pass through the Clip Studio app itself or through their official website.

After starting up Clip Studio, click “Use the latest features.”
Make sure that the Update Pass is the same version as the License you bought, PRO or EX, then click “Purchase.”

How to buy the pass through their official website.
On the top page, click “Buy now.”
On the next page, click on “Upgrades” tab. Scroll down until you see the Update Pass options.
After clicking “Subscribe”, it will prompt you to sign in. Please sign in the with same account you used to buy the Perpetual License.
Please purchase an Update Pass from Clip Studio with an activated Clip Studio Paint Ver. 1 or Ver. 2 one-time purchase, perpetual license.

If you do not buy the Update Pass through the same account as the one you used to buy the Perpetual License, there may be some linking issues between them which may prevent you from using the pass. Please check beforehand that you are using the same account to avoid this problem.

Can I use the plan on multiple devices?
f you have the Update Pass or Ver. 2.0 one-time purchase license, you can use the software on one device per contract. You can install and use the software on up to two computers unless the app is launched at the same time.
If you wish to use a monthly or yearly Clip Studio Paint plan on multiple devices, please purchase the appropriate plan according to the number of devices you will be using.
